The Core Problem:
Insecure branding is a liability. Most identities in this space rely on "lifestyle" clichés that trigger regulatory friction and kill B2B trust. Cannavan required a high-security visual language that signaled institutional authority from day one.
My Role:
Brand Architect & UX Strategist. Responsible for the full vertical—from foundational identity and regulatory-safe iconography to fleet-ready graphics and tactile governance.
Core Impact:
Delivered a scalable governance system that bridges the gap between logistics precision and sector compliance. The result is a unified B2B identity that commands authority across fleet, digital, and regulatory touchpoints—built to outlast industry volatility.
Client Request
Our company wants a brand image that suits our industry and is not attractive to children. We’re looking for a classy, unique design that stands out but avoids using cartoons or anything appealing to kids. Our goal is to build a reputation for secure cannabis transportation, with employees trained in firearm use and other security measures.

Phase 1: Identifying the Risks
After digging into the regulatory landscape, the primary threat was clear: child-appeal isn't just a design flaw, it’s a business-killer. We moved past the aesthetics to focus on a strategic mandate of high-security logistics and absolute zero novelty.
TRAP: The Identity Paradox

Lean too hard into "security" and you look like a cold militia; lean too hard into "cannabis" and you lose enterprise trust. Both paths invite regulatory friction and kill B2B credibility before the first contract is even signed.
SOLUTION: Neutral Authority

I engineered a stable, professional visual language that avoids all child-appeal while establishing an immediate sense of unwavering trust for B2B contracts.
STRATEGIC DESIGN PILLARS
I distilled the raw user insights and regulatory requirements into four core pillars. These became the unwavering guardrails that governed every visual and systemic decision.

Rock-Solid Authority
No room for doubt

Compliance-Safe
Zero child-appeal risk

B2B Friendly
Professional, not cold

Scalable Governance
Works on vans & cards
Affinity Map

Rather than a simple brainstorm, I developed a technical core identity map. It distills complex requirements, like 'unwavering security' and 'regulatory compliance,' into a functional visual rubric. This ensured the brand remained internally consistent and strictly professional across every touchpoint.
Mood Board

This serves as the brand’s operational filter. By mapping corporate sophistication against industry relevance, we established the 'Neutral Authority' needed to bypass the clichés. I defined a visual rule-set that is invisible to children but instantly credible to enterprise partners, ensuring the brand signals safe, governed transport.
Phase 2: Developing the Visual Anchor
I narrowed the focus to three directions built for high-stakes B2B trust. The winning mark was chosen for its legibility and restraint. It establishes an immediate sense of authority that survives regulatory scrutiny, ensuring the brand looks like a logistics giant rather than a novelty startup.
From Logic to Form: Strategic Design Directions

Concept A: Professionalism & Flow

Concept B: Stability & Compliance

Concept C: Protection & Growth

The Anatomy of a High-Stakes Mark
We traded novelty for geometric rigor. Built on a precise mathematical grid, the final mark was engineered for absolute scalability and B2B resilience. By merging forward motion with a subtle industry nod, we created a symbol that maintains its structural integrity whether it’s on a 53-foot trailer or a mobile app icon.
Typography: Authority + Accessibility
Clean, strong sans-serif hierarchy solves dual needs: bold condensed headlines project compliance confidence; regular body copy ensures readable regulatory details. WCAG AA compliant across digital and print.
Color: Strategic Restraint
Lime greens and muted grays signal industry relevance without flash. Canna Green nods to sector; Stone Gray grounds stability. Only bright accents—restraint builds B2B trust faster than novelty.
Brand Style Guide: Governance in Action
A 18-page landscape PDF slideshow governs every application—logo usage, color codes, typography hierarchy, and compliance-safe iconography.
Phase 3: Final Execution & Scalability
The system applied to core assets—polo shirts, business cards, delivery boxes—with a hierarchy that prioritizes compliance info. Security details lead; regulatory text is clear but secondary. Result: Trust at first touchpoint.

Conclusion & Impact
The project launched a B2B brand with immediate compliance credibility and scalability. From fleet vehicles to client proposals, the system holds. Now positioned for regulatory expansion and digital tools—where trust secures contracts.
